Overcoming the Impostor Syndrome!
Impostor syndrome is everywhere across industries / hierarchies, but some people are brave enough to face it & open to discussing their rife. But, there could be a large positive side to this as well.
The impostor syndrome / conditions similar to it could arise anywhere and happen to anyone really and there have been many cases where it has acted more like a pillar of strength, over an extra but minute bit of an effort that quantifies to something as small as a perspective change, that is of course with a few caveats.
The greatest obstacle for me has been the voice in my head that I call my obnoxious roommate. I wish someone would invent a tape recorder that we could attach to our brains to record everything we tell ourselves. We could realize how important it is to stop this negative self-talk. It means pushing back against our obnoxious roommate with a dose of wisdom.

01. The “What”?
Simply put, the “impostor syndrome” is a condition where you find yourself in a state of self-doubt and that leads to doubting your own skills, accomplishments and sometimes even going to the extent of ignoring appreciation you get from others.
To the world outside you may be all of these and beyond: -
But, inside yourself you are still battling as to who you actually are. You always seem to doubt yourself let alone seeing a sense of satisfaction within yourself. When you look in the mirror you seem lost and often find yourself lurking in an ocean of disbelief which is shattering you by the turn of the screw every day.
Well. Welcome to the club.
And, I don’t mean that sarcastically at all in any sense of the word.
We have all been through it. And FYI, in case you aren’t aware of it some of them as experienced as 20+ yrs. in a particular industry / domain feel this as often as every day, regularly, even to date.
As is the way of the world in dealing with every physical / mental condition that is known, it becomes invariably important to explore the Why & the How to begin with.
02. The “Why”?
That’s really a multiverse of psychological situations and past experiences that could be the reason for someone contacting this mental condition.
Some common reasons here:
03. The “How”?
Now that we have understood the syndrome and covered some details over what could cause it, we could move ahead to exploring the resolutions.
Just for the record, YES! It is definitely possible to overcome it. Whether it is “Easy” / “Difficult” though could be very subjective to a person / a situation per se.
04. BONUS - Why Not!?
All that said and done, truth be told - at some point in time somewhere on a given odd day everybody is bound to feel like an Impostor but that’s all very well.
But, when the world seems to have a complete in depth understanding of the What, Why & How over this so-called mental condition that seem to plague most people, could it even be remotely possible to flip it over transforming it into something of an advantage which could add up as a strength?
Well! I don’t see why not!
Fair Warning: This suggestion is more of a superlative and might require years and years of practice under expert care and attention without a shadow of doubt. When it could also seem very hypothetical to most people, truth is, it is all possible and that’s absolutely no surprise at all. Whether it is probable or not could be subject to a serious debate.
There could be many positives that could emerge by way of carrying the traits of this syndrome. Some significant ones amongst them could be:
